The new series features a flat front surface, eliminating the step between the screen and the surrounding bezel. The device is also thinner thanks to a redesigned layering system for the screen, light, and touch controls. The power button has been moved to the upper right corner, making it less likely to be accidentally pressed when holding the device with one hand. The device continues to feature a screen with reduced glare and an adjustable front light.

The Kindle (16GB) is the lightest model in the series, featuring a 6-inch monochrome screen. It's thinner and lighter than previous models, and opening books is about 30% faster. It has 16GB of storage capacity and a battery that lasts up to 6 weeks. It comes in two colors, Ube Purple and Graphite, and is priced at 29,980 yen (including tax). Sales and shipping began on October 1st.

The battery lasts up to 6 weeks, and it comes in two colors: Alpine Sky Blue and Seagrass Green. The price is ¥33,980 (tax included), and sales and shipping began on October 1st.

Furthermore, an internal optical coating enhances display clarity, and optimized screen drive technology improves operating speed and contrast. The battery is said to last up to eight weeks.
