I tried Häagen-Dazs' black sesame ice cream, 'GREEN CRAFT Mini Cup 'Black Sesame & Kinako''.

Haagen-Dazs is developing the 'GREEN CRAFT' series, which uses plant-based milk (soy milk). On September 1st, 2026 (Tuesday), the ' GREEN CRAFT Mini Cup 'Black Sesame & Kinako'' will be released, featuring black sesame ice cream and black sesame sauce. I had the opportunity to try it a little early, so I checked out what it tastes like.

This product uses soy milk instead of cow's milk, and is classified as a frozen dessert rather than ice cream. Ingredients include soy milk, black sesame sauce, sugar, powdered syrup, egg yolk, kinako (roasted soybean flour), salt, and a stabilizer (pectin). It contains 180 kcal.

When I opened the lid, I found that the surface of the ice cream was sprinkled with kinako (roasted soybean flour).

The kinako (roasted soybean flour) remains in powder form.

Beneath the kinako (roasted soybean flour) is black sesame ice cream. The combination of black sesame and kinako is excellent, resulting in a sweet ice cream with a distinctly Japanese feel.

It also contains a jet-black black sesame sauce, and the interesting point is that the parts with the sauce have an even richer black sesame flavor. It was an ice cream where you could enjoy black sesame at various concentrations in one serving.

GREEN CRAFT Mini Cup 'Black Sesame & Kinako' is scheduled to be released on September 1st, 2026 (Tuesday), with a suggested retail price of 373 yen.
