Bloomberg reports that sources say SpaceX is interested in Cognition not only because it develops the AI agent ' Devin ,' but also because it has clients such as the Mercedes-Benz Group and GE Aerospace, which would help SpaceX expand its support base among potential customers.
Furthermore, CEO Wu has previously stated publicly, even to businesspeople, that he is 'not interested in selling the business.' Bloomberg itself reported that when Cognition raised $1 billion (approximately 158 billion yen) in May 2026, he said, 'With this funding, we can maintain our independence and continue operating as an independent business.'
SpaceX has not commented on this matter.
