Google has released 'Lyria 3.5,' an AI-powered music generator that can create songs with Japanese vocals up to 3 minutes in length, so I tried it out.
Google released its music generation AI, ' Lyria 3.5, ' on July 29, 2026 (local time). It can generate songs with vocals up to three minutes in length, and also features a function to generate music based on input images. Since it was already available for free, I decided to try it out.

Lyria 3.5 can run on Google's music generation service, 'Google Flow Music.' First, click the link below to access Google Flow Music.

Once the login screen appears, select your Google account and proceed with the login process.
Upon successful login, an explanation of Google Flow Music will be displayed. In short, it states that you can create music using Lyria 3.5 and that you will receive 500 credits upon login. Carefully read
Read the privacy notice and click 'Agree'.
Enter your username and click 'Save'.
This makes it possible to generate music using Lyria 3.5 with Google Flow Music.
I typed 'It's the middle of summer. This is an energetic song by a female idol group that conveys the message, 'It's too hot, but let's do our best,' and 'Let's make sure to stay hydrated.' It has multiple vocalists and solo parts,' and clicked the send button.
After waiting for a while, two songs titled 'Full Power Hydration' were output.
The generated song can be downloaded as a music video, so I'll give it a try. When you hover your mouse cursor over the song title, a menu will appear, so click the video download button enclosed in the red box.
A screen will appear where you can select the type of video. 'Music video' consumes a lot of credits, so this time click 'Player'.
However, an error occurred and the video download failed.
Since the download fails every time, I've given up on downloading the video and will download it as an audio file instead. Click the menu button, then click 'Download,' and select the file format. You can choose from three audio file formats: 'M4A,' 'MP3,' and 'WAV.'
The following is a download of 'Zenryoku Hydration' in MP3 format. It definitely sounds like a song by a female idol group. However, if you listen carefully, there are some parts where the pronunciation is questionable.
