Satellite imagery reveals Amazon's data center was once again targeted by missiles from Iran.
Satellite imagery has revealed that an Amazon data center in Bahrain was hit by an Iranian missile attack.

The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IGSCL) , one of Iran's military organizations, released satellite images through the Iranian quasi-governmental news agency Tasnim News Agency showing extensive damage to two data centers in Bahrain, Zarak and Askar. The IGSCL claims the two data centers were targeted because 'Amazon supports U.S. military operations.'
Bloomberg reported that satellite imagery taken by Sentinel-2 , operated by the European Space Agency , confirmed that both of Amazon's data centers were affected.
Adam Farrar, senior geopolitical and economic analyst at Bloomberg Economics who was in charge of the analysis, said, 'The Sentinel-2 images clearly show that both facilities were damaged, but we don't know the extent of the damage. However, the timing of the attack and the location of the damage are consistent with images shared through Iranian news agencies.'
Bloomberg has reached out to Amazon and the Bahrain National Communications Centre for comment, but has not received a response as of the time of writing. The U.S. Department of Defense and U.S. Central Command have declined to comment.
According to a report by ACLED , a non-profit conflict monitoring organization, the Iranian military launched missile attacks on Amazon's data center in Zarak on July 22 and 24, 2026. It has also been revealed that on July 18 and 21, a data center of Bahraini telecommunications company RJR, which hosts AWS's cloud infrastructure in Askar, was attacked.
Furthermore, Amazon's facilities in the Middle East were attacked just as recently as March 2026.
