A review of the refreshing, sweet and sour Calpis drink, 'Calpis and Special Lemonade.'

A new soft drink called 'Calpis and Special Lemonade' has been released, which combines Calpis with lemon juice and a special lemon syrup. I saw it at the supermarket, so I bought it and tried it.

'Calpis and Special Lemonade' - Limited-time release from July 14th. A refreshing sweet and sour lemon flavor.

The ingredients include lemon juice, skim milk powder, and lemon syrup.

The calorie content is 44kcal per 100ml. Since one bottle is 500ml, that's 220kcal per bottle.

I poured it into a glass. The color is pretty much the same as regular Calpis.

Compared to regular Calpis, it has less of the characteristic sweetness and thickness of Calpis, and instead has the added sweetness and mild acidity of lemonade. It leans more towards sweetness, but it's not cloyingly sweet and is easy to drink.

The suggested retail price for 'Calpis and Special Lemonade' is 216 yen (tax included). Amazon.co.jp sells a pack of 24 bottles for 2858 yen (tax included), which works out to 119 yen per bottle.
