The Shukmeruli pork loin cutlet and Shukmeruli jumbo chicken cutlet are not available at Matsuya, but at Matsunoya, a tonkatsu specialty restaurant in the Matsuya Foods group.

At the Matsunoya store, Shkmeruli was being promoted.

This time, we ordered the 'Shkmeruli Pork Loin Cutlet Set Meal (990 yen including tax)' and the 'Shkmeruli Jumbo Chicken Cutlet (930 yen including tax)'.

It was served in about 15 minutes.

This is the Shkmeruli pork cutlet. A generous amount of Shkmeruli sauce is poured over the pork cutlet.

Shkmeruli is a dish where the intense flavor and aroma of garlic are enveloped in a creamy, sweet sauce. The Shkmeruli itself is very flavorful, but the pork cutlet holds its own, allowing you to taste the sweetness of the pork. Since it's freshly fried, it's a nice touch that it retains its crispy texture even while being soaked in the Shkmeruli.

Matsuya's Shkmeruli is already a hearty dish, but when combined with Matsunoya's fried food, it becomes even more substantial. The flavor is quite strong, so you'll find yourself eating rice non-stop.

This is what the Shkmeruli Jumbo Chicken Cutlet looks like. As the name suggests, it's a dish with a large chicken cutlet topped with shkmeruli sauce, and the chicken cutlet is even bigger than

The chicken cutlet is jumbo not only in area but also in thickness. It has a crispy exterior and a springy texture inside. Compared to the Shkmeruli pork cutlet, it is similar in composition to Matsuya's Shkmeruli, but the addition of a 'crispy coating' and 'large pieces' makes it a hearty dish that is definitely a cut above the rest.

The amount of shkmeruli is generous enough to coat the pork cutlet or chicken cutlet with, and there's even some left over. You can easily finish it all by mixing the remaining shkmeruli with rice. Another great thing about Matsunoya is that you can get free refills of rice when you order a set meal.

Incidentally, Matsuya's Shkmeruli is also available as a frozen food, and you can get a 20-serving set on Amazon.co.jp for 7,490 yen (374 yen per serving) including tax. Furthermore, you can also get a 10-piece set of Matsunoya's pork loin cutlets for 3,492 yen (349 yen per piece) including tax.
