By filing a private IPO application, Anthropic can begin preparations for a future public offering without disclosing detailed financial information, risks, and other internal matters. However, if Anthropic decides to proceed with its public offering plan, it will file an S-1 registration statement, which will include detailed information about the company's financial situation, legal challenges, risks, and the breakdown of its largest voting holders.

This application comes at the same time as SpaceX's initial public offering (IPO), which aims for a valuation of $2 trillion (approximately 319 trillion yen). SpaceX has xAI, the developer of Grok, as a subsidiary.

TechCrunch, an IT news site, commented, 'The IPO season has begun with a showdown between the two largest players in the AI field, and the market's commitment and interest in artificial intelligence will be put to the test.'

Anthropic has announced that its annual revenue has grown from $9 billion (approximately 1.44 trillion yen) at the end of 2025 to $47 billion (approximately 7.51 trillion yen), an increase of approximately 422%. Furthermore, it can be said that Anthropic's revenue growth rate could accelerate even further as it makes its Mythos models more widely available.
