AMD has announced the 'Ryzen 7 7700X3D,' reviving the 5800X3D as a 10th-anniversary model and extending AM5 support.

AMD announced new initiatives in the gaming sector ahead of Computex 2026. The announcement revealed the re-release of the popular Ryzen 7 5800X3D CPU to commemorate the 10th anniversary of Socket AM4 , and also unveiled a new processor, the Ryzen 7 7700X3D .

AMD explains that the Ryzen 7 7700X3D is a processor with eight cores, a total of 104MB of cache, and a boost speed of up to 4.5GHz, delivering excellent gaming performance and responsiveness. Compared to the Ryzen 7 7800X3D , the cache configuration and 8-core configuration are the same, but the boost clock is lower, at 4.5GHz compared to the 7800X3D's maximum of 5.0GHz, making it a lower-end model that is approximately 20,000 yen cheaper. AMD states that 'AMD 3D V-Cache brings gaming performance to more players at an affordable price, while also providing the flexibility to support upgrades over the next few years.'



The Ryzen 7 7700X3D is scheduled to be released on July 16, 2026, with a suggested retail price of $329 (approximately 52,000 yen) at launch.

Furthermore, with the release of the Ryzen 7 7700X3D, the support period for the Socket AM5 platform, which debuted in 2022, has been extended from the previously planned 2027 to 2029. AMD explains, 'For gamers, the extended support period means they have more time to upgrade their CPU while continuing to use the same motherboard. The longer platform roadmap reduces the need to replace the entire system, giving PC builders more peace of mind when choosing AMD Ryzen processors, AM5 motherboards, and compatible memory.'

Radeon RX 9070 GRE ' graphics card, which was previously sold exclusively in the Chinese market, will be rolled out globally. The Radeon RX 9070 GRE features ray tracing and AI processing capabilities based on the RDNA 4 architecture , and according to AMD, it will deliver an average of 21% faster gaming performance than competing products. The Radeon RX 9070 GRE GPU will be available globally through AMD's board partners starting June 2, 2026, with a suggested retail price of $549 (approximately 87,000 yen) at launch.



In addition, AMD is preparing a new enhanced version of its EXPO memory standard called 'EXPO Ultra Low Latency (EXPO ULL).' This new standard is intended for DDR5 kits for the Ryzen platform and is expected to be included in new memory modules scheduled for release in June 2026.

Announced as part of the EXPO 1.2 update, EXPO ULL offers a low-latency memory mode, automatic memory overclocking, and more advanced memory timing adjustments for compatible DDR5 kits. AMD claims that EXPO ULL improves both the average FPS of a game and the '1% Low FPS' metric, which represents the average of the bottom 1% of frame rates, resulting in up to a 13% improvement in average FPS compared to JEDEC DDR5 , the official standard for DDR5 memory, and up to a 4% improvement in average FPS compared to the current EXPO profile.
