'Cashtags' is a feature that allows you to access real-time financial data on X.

In the US and European stock markets, companies are given ticker symbols consisting of several letters of the alphabet in addition to their company names for identification purposes. For example, the EV manufacturer Tesla's ticker symbol is 'TSLA,' so in Cashtags it would be '$TSLA' with a dollar sign at the beginning.

Tapping on it displayed the price movements of Tesla stock. You can select from periods of 1 day, 1 week, 1 month, 1 year, or all time.

The graph can also be changed to a candlestick chart. You can see price movements while viewing posts that mention the relevant Cashtags.

You can check not only stock issues but also cryptocurrencies in the same way.

Regarding this feature, Nikita Bier of X stated, 'Cashtags are just the first step in our efforts to become the ultimate destination for the finance and cryptocurrency community.'
The Cashtags feature is currently available in the United States and Canada for iOS users, and no information has been released regarding its availability on Android or browsers, or in other countries.
Incidentally, a similar feature was implemented once before, back in December 2022, when X was still called Twitter, and Elon Musk posted that it was 'one of many improvements to the financial Twitter!'
