YouTube has reported revenue of $60 billion by 2025. According to research firm Moffett Nathanson, YouTube's advertising revenue will exceed the combined advertising revenues of Disney, Paramount, Warner Bros. Discovery, and NBCUniversal.

Not only did YouTube's advertising revenue in 2025 exceed that of the four major Hollywood studios combined, but it also marked a significant reversal from the previous year. In 2024, YouTube's advertising revenue was $36.1 billion (¥5.7 trillion), falling short of the four major studios' combined advertising revenue of $41.8 billion (approximately ¥6.6 trillion). However, by 2025, it reached $40.4 billion (approximately ¥6.4 trillion), surpassing the four studios' combined total of $37.8 billion (approximately ¥6 trillion).

Thanks to its user-participation platform design, YouTube has become the leading player in the media industry, with a market capitalization nearly $100 billion (approximately 15.8 trillion yen) ahead of Netflix, the next highest. YouTube TV has about 10 million subscribers and is expected to overtake pay-TV giants Charter and Comcast within the next few years.

MoffettNathanson believes YouTube's explosive growth will be fueled by its mix of pay TV and creator-driven content, as well as its heavy investment in AI tools that will allow creators to produce more content at a faster pace.

However, YouTube's ad revenue still lags behind tech giants like Meta, which is projected to generate $196.2 billion in ad revenue by 2025, surpassing YouTube's revenue from Instagram alone.
