Motorola says its long-term partnership with the GrapheneOS Foundation will help strengthen smartphone security and develop future devices with GrapheneOS compatibility.
GrapheneOS says the partnership will initially focus on flagship models like the Motorola Signature and Motorola RAZR Fold, which are expected to debut in 2026, but could expand to mid-range models in the future, with the first models expected to debut in 2027.
It will initially be flagships similar to the current generation Motorola Signature, Motorola razr fold and Motorola razr ultra since those will be the 2027 devices meeting our requirements including the expected updates and hardware memory tagging but it can expand over time.

GrapheneOS is an Android-based operating system that has been customized to eliminate unnecessary pre-installed apps (bloatware) and disable risky features, making it highly secure. The hardware requirements for installing GrapheneOS are strict, and until now, it was only compatible with Google's Pixel series.
The GrapheneOS installed on Motorola devices is the same as the one for Pixel, and is said to be completely bloatware-free.
It will be the same GrapheneOS as on Pixels. It's not going to have any bloatware. It's an entirely separate thing from their own operating system. They're going to integrate some GrapheneOS features/concepts into their regular OS too but that's a separate thing from GrapheneOS.

'We are excited to partner with Motorola to bring GrapheneOS's industry-leading privacy and security focus to its next-generation smartphones,' said the GrapheneOS Foundation. 'This collaboration marks an important milestone in the widespread adoption of GrapheneOS, and we commend Motorola for taking this meaningful step towards improving mobile security.'
Motorola commented, 'By combining GrapheneOS's advanced engineering with Motorola's decades of security expertise and real- world user insights , and Lenovo's ThinkShield solutions, this collaboration will advance a new generation of privacy and security technology. Over the coming months, Motorola and the GrapheneOS Foundation will continue to collaborate on research, software enhancements, and develop new security features, and will announce more details and solutions as our partnership evolves.'
