For creators, a common complaint is that posts with links tend to get lower reach. This is because the web browser covers the post and… pic.twitter.com/oWraLpPwji
Testing of the new UI began in late October 2025, and was expanded to iOS X apps worldwide on October 25, 2025. The actual UI looks like this: First, tap the link in the post.

The web page will then be displayed in the in-app browser, with the original post's content and buttons for 'Reply,' 'Repost,' 'Like,' 'Bookmark,' and 'Share' at the bottom of the screen.

As you scroll down the page, the bottom of the screen shrinks, but the buttons remain visible, making it easier for people to respond to their posts.

Substack CEO Chris Best reported that the UI changes to X have increased traffic to his webpage.

The access records included 'accesses that X-app preloaded before the user's operation,' but even after subtracting this, the number of accesses was still four times higher .
Update 2: even correcting for the fake views, traffic to Substack links from X is up substantially. (full post reads, signups, etc. also track.)
