Below is a video that reproduces the data of a user who 'played No Man's Sky for 611 hours,' and you can see that when you move your viewpoint, it shows terrible 'flickering' overall.

After looking at the user's data, Griffiths stated, 'Every bug is important, but when you have hundreds or thousands of hours of playtime, we have to put in the time. If players have put that much effort into our game, it makes sense to fix it,' and promised to fix the bug.

Griffiths fixed the bug and released the following video, taken in the same location, which shows that the flickering has completely disappeared and the distant scenery is clearly visible.

'The large bases that users were building were reaching the limits of the general Xbox engine,' Griffiths said. 'We've fixed that, so other users who had similar issues with their large bases will likely see improvements.'

No Man's Sky was released in 2016 and initially received a storm of 'bad reviews', but with a steady stream of updates it has grown to a 'very popular' level. At the time of writing , there were approximately 10,000 active players. On November 8, 2024, a major update was implemented to enable cross-save between PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, etc., and the PlayStation 5 Pro version was released on the same day.
