It's eat or be eaten, from adventurers to food, a summary of 'dungeon food' made into three dimensions at Wonder Festival 2024 [Summer]

The manga '

Dungeon Meshi ' by Ryouko Kui, the first season of which aired on TV from January to June 2024, tells the story of a fantasy world where people go into dungeons and survive by cooking and eating the monsters that live there. Many of the characters, dishes, and ingredients from the manga were also on display at Wonder Festival 2024 [Summer] , which was held on July 28, 2024, so we've picked out a few and summarized them here.

On display at 'Wondersmith (booth number: 2-11-05)' was Marsil from Dungeon Meal. The prototype was made by Laifukutek and the paint was done by Kadogami .

The exhibit was made so that the diagonal right side of Marsil's face was the front, so when you look at Marsil's face from the front, his mouth is drawn slightly shifted to the right.

On display at 'CBDesk (5-13-06)' was 'Thank you for the meal Farigon' made by

Shibi . It was an unpainted, unassembled garage kit, priced at 10,000 yen.

Farigon is a fusion between a Farin and a dragon. Farigon is holding a mug and licking his lips.

The lower body is that of a dragon and is very sturdy.

At 'okayu (3-19-02)', a bust of Farin was on display. The original model was made by

okayu , and the price is 5,000 yen. Farin's gentle personality is reflected in her smile.

At

the MAX TOY JAPAN LLC booth 'MAX TOY' (6-10-09), a soft vinyl Senshi figure was on display.

Mandrake at your feet.

I also found mandrakes at

Chidoriashi 's booth, 'Mandrake Farm (4-08-15).' It looked like real freshly picked vegetables were lined up, so I wondered for a moment, 'Is this an unmanned sales booth?'

The Mandrake's face looks like this. It cost 1200 yen.

At '

Cafe Con Leche (3-07-03)', miniatures of dishes that appear in 'Dungeon Food' were on display.

In order to digest the dragon parts of Farigon, they continued cooking with dragon meat for several days, and the final product was this 'Farigon stew in cream sauce.'

And the dish that Laios, Marsil, and Chilchuck ate when they met Senshi was 'Scorpion and Walking Mushroom Mizutaki.' Both dishes cost 5,000 yen each.

The Winged Lion Grimoire was on display at the booth of the '

Super Fantasy Materials Research Club (2-08-12) '.

The cover. It has a textured look like embossed leather, and the feel and three-dimensionality are real, but it's actually fake leather.

The inside is designed to look like dragon scales.

According to the Super Fantasy Material Research Department, the unevenness, coloring, and gloss are all printed, and they use

highly reproducible fake leather that can reproduce materials that only appear in fantasy. The Super Fantasy Material Research Department is run by Omoto Senko , a long-established dyeing company in Kyoto, and they created this grimoire after trying out various in-house techniques.
