◆ Synopsis of 'The Part-time Life of a Hero and a Corporate Slave' Death 2.5
After being defeated in a battle with a formidable enemy, the lousy hero Kuzuru somehow wakes up in modern-day Japan. The beautiful woman who picked him up is an executive at a certain game company, and Kuzuru makes a complete turnaround from his heroic past to working as an office worker.

However, Kuzuru ends up working at a really shady game company, where his days are tougher than those of a hero. A genius girl named Faron, who is a member of the hero's party, comes to help Kuzuru. Faron is a 'priest' who uses special magic to help the hero's party by creating a warp gate-like magic that connects Konam, Kuzuru's hometown, with modern Japan.

The members of the hero's party are harsh on the weak and cowardly Kuzuul, but Faron seems to be the only one who admires the hero.

Although Faron is still young compared to the other party members, he is an excellent priest with a wealth of magical knowledge. In future episodes, there will be scenes where Kuzuru learns magic from Faron in order to face even stronger enemies.

In the first spinoff episode, 'Deathma 2.5,' Fallon's birthday party is held. It's a brief respite that wasn't depicted in the busy main story.

However, Kuzuru was too busy to even find time to prepare a present for the lovable genius girl. What kind of present did Kuzuru, who commutes between his office and home (another world), prepare?

◆GSC members only bonus: Episode 2.5 cover illustration & name making
For chapter 2.5 of 'The Part-Time Life of a Hero and a Corporate Slave,' I'm also creating a front cover illustration that will be used as a thumbnail when the story is released to the public, separate from the main story. I found a rough draft of the front cover illustration, so I'm releasing it as a making-of video exclusive to GSC members. The draft shows a large image of Fallon, the main character of the birthday party, surrounded by his friends holding presents and Kuzuru desperately searching for his belongings.

Plan B also reflected the content of the episode, depicting the group preparing a present for Fallon in a three-panel comic strip-like composition.

Plan C is not related to the episode, but since chapter 2.5 is about the hero party, it is a rough sketch that shows Kuzuru's companions getting along well. Please wait for the public release update to find out which plan was ultimately adopted and what the cover illustration will look like.

In the making of the main story, there were two changes made from the time of the name. Below is the opening scene, where the characters are toasting 'Happy Birthday!' The close-up of the mugs being toasted makes it easy to understand the action, but it was a waste to only see the characters in the distance in the first frame in the opening scene, so we changed it to a scene where the characters are toasting while being included in the frame.

The modified line drawing looks like this:

There's one more small detail to note about this scene. If you look closely at the toast scene in color, you can see that the other characters' mugs contain red drinks, but Fallon's is orange. The adult characters are drinking wine-like alcohol, but Fallon is a member of the hero's party at a young age, so the composition is designed to make it clear that he is drinking a soft drink.

One small change is the scene on page 4 where Kuzuru is harshly criticized. The frame where Kuzuru is punched away with a 'Boka' sound would have been easier to understand, but this scene also has the effect of 'Kuzuru giving a strange present and being criticized' on page 3, so the 'Boka' frame was cut to give a sense of speed.
