A news program by RCG Media, a local broadcasting station in Mexico, had a segment where they broadcast live footage of a total solar eclipse observed in the United States on April 8, 2024 local time. At that time, it seems that the viewer's footage sent in included a 'prank video of a testicle blocking the sun,' and a broadcast accident occurred in which the testicles were inadvertently shown up close on the television broadcast.

Below is the actual news footage. The testicles are blurred.

The show will feature cast members in studio showcasing footage of the total solar eclipse sent in by viewers.

The screen will change.

An image of the sun, seemingly taken through eclipse glasses or a filter, was then displayed.

I was watching, thinking, 'The sun will probably be hidden soon,' when to my surprise it was not the moon that was hiding the sun, but his testicles.

I could also see the man's legs with his legs apart.

The staff hurriedly switched the screen.

In the studio were two confused-looking female guests and the male presenter who tried to apologise and move on.

X (formerly Twitter) user Rhevolver claims that the video shown on TV is his, but it is unclear whether the testicles shown in the video actually belong to Rhevolver.

The prank of posting 'Testicle Eclipse' videos in which people cover the sun with their testicles to coincide with a total solar eclipse also occurred in Chile in 2019.

Tommy Lee , drummer for the heavy metal band Motley Crue , also posted a video of his testicular eclipse on Instagram, which was quickly removed by Instagram.
