I got on the ropeway in Chandragiri, Nepal, where you can see the mountains of the Himalayas in the distance.

About 30 minutes by car from the center of Kathmandu, Nepal, there is a mountain called Chandragiri. It boasts a beautiful view overlooking the Himalayan mountains to the north, and since the 'Chandragiri Cable Car' was completed in 2016, if the weather is good, you can move while watching the superb view. I rode to see what kind of scenery I could actually see.

Here is the location of the station on the foot of the mountain. There is almost one road going west from the center of Kathmandu.

Central Kathmandu. Nepal's road traffic is characterized by the fact that it often runs out of the lane, and the motorcycle enters the gap of the car and overtakes it.

Waiting for a signal to feel the number of motorcycles. Where there was a lot of traffic, there were police officers directing traffic.

On the highway heading west from Kathmandu, underground construction work was underway, and there was a warning sign to slow down.

Cross the Bishmati River, a tributary of the Bagmati River that flows through the Kathmandu Valley.

A dog barking at a motorcycle. One of the characteristics of Nepal is that there are many dogs anyway. On the other hand, I don't think there are any cats, but at least I didn't see any feral cats.

An old temple sticks out in the middle of the road.

Since the Kathmandu Valley has fine elevations, it is not possible to see ahead of the road.

After driving about 15 minutes from the city, Chandragiri came into view in front of me.

Leave the highway leading to the right and head for the station at the foot of the mountain.

You can also see the gondolas coming and going.

I arrived at the foot of the station. The name is 'Chandragiri Cable Car', and the local people call it 'cable car', but in Japan, the cable car refers to the one that lays the tracks and winds the vehicle with a cable, and this kind of gondola Since the one used is called a ropeway (ropeway), it will be called a 'ropeway' in the article.

At this point, it was a certain height, so a heart mark object called 'I LOVE CHANDRAGIRI' was installed for photography.

Ropeway ticket office. For local Nepalese, one way 475 rupees (about 475 yen), round trip 799 rupees (about 799 yen),

SAARC people one way 760 rupees (about 760 yen), round trip 1280 rupees (about 1280 yen), Chinese If it is 9 dollars one way (about 1200 yen), 15 dollars round trip (about 2000 yen), other foreigners are 13 dollars one way (about 1740 yen) and 22 dollars round trip (about 3000 yen).

The gondola looks like this.

Cargo gondolas were also mixed.

The actual scenery of the train window looks like this. I tried to shoot the entire uphill from the point where I left the station at the foot of the mountain to the arrival at the summit station. The weather was fine on this day, and I could see the Himalayan mountains just to the north. In addition, since the people who got on the gondola were talking about various things, the movie contains BGM instead of raw sound.

After leaving the foot station, the gondola rises rapidly.

The right back is the direction of Kathmandu.

The Himalayan mountains look white, like a single cloud.

The direction of the summit is like this.

On the way, you can see a resort facility located a little down from the summit on the left hand side in the direction of travel.

Arrive at summit station.

Map of Chandragiri. 1 is the foot station, 2 is the summit station, 3 is the temple, and 6 is the resort facility you saw earlier.

Everest (Sagarmatha) can be seen from here.

You should be able to see it from the front...

There is a small play space at the top of the mountain, and a zip line is also installed.

As expected, it was not a zipline with such a difference in height.

The height is 2551m above sea level.

At the summit is a Hindu temple called Bhaleshwara Mahadev Temple.

Many people visited the shrine because it is easily accessible by ropeway.

The statue of Prithvi Narayan Shaha, the founding father of the Kingdom of Nepal, stands on the north side of the temple. There were many people who raised their right hand and took pictures with the same pose. It is said that

Lantern Lirn can be seen far behind the statue.
