I stayed at Chikezo-covered Urakawa Yushun Village AERU 'Winning Ticket Room'

Urakawa Yushun Village AERU, located in Urakawa-cho, Hidaka, Hokkaido, offers horseback riding, park golf, barbecue, and more. This lodging facility has a Derby horse/winning ticket concept room, so I was able to get a room while traveling in Hokkaido, so I stayed.

We visited during the season when snow still remained. It seems that the Hidaka region doesn't get much snowfall, but this time of year it was snow that you don't see much every year. In addition, this area is a pasture, and you can see horses belonging to AERU from morning to evening.

The first thing I saw was the gate stables. The main accommodation is built over there.

A statue of a child and Tosho Boy near the gate stables. The hats, mufflers, and gloves are said to have been worn by visitors.

Together with Tenpoint and Greengrass, Tosho Boy is called 'TTG', and in 1976 he won the Satsuki Sho and the Arima Kinen, and in 1977 the Takarazuka Kinen. In addition to being called 'Tenma' because of his run, he was also called 'help boy' by breeders because of the high conception rate after entering the stallion and many horses that won.

The AERU map looks like this. The Welcome Center and Yushun Lodge are the main lodging facilities. There are many other facilities as well.

Arrived at the welcome center.

The room key had a key holder imitating a horse's head.

This is the 'winning ticket room' where you stay.

When you open the door of the room, it looks like this.

Under the triangular window on the front, there is a bulletin board showing the order of arrival when the winning ticket wins the Derby.

In the Derby, Winning Ticket defeated Biwahayahide and Narita Taishin, and gave jockey Masato Shibata his first win in his 19th challenge.

Above the bed is a tapestry of Goal Moments.

A winning ticket with a derby lei on the wall next to the bed.

On the sofa is a winning ticket tapestry, a winning ticket horse number cushion, and a winning ticket plush toy.

The other side of the bed looks something like this, although there is no tapestry, the picture of the winning ticket is decorated. The size of the room is quite large as it is a large twin room, and it is easy to open the suitcase fully and change the contents.

A cup of tea or coffee. This area is the same as a normal hotel.

Small plastic bottles can fit in the refrigerator, but it is difficult to store too many.

Looking back at the entrance side of the room, it looks like this. The door on the left is the bath, and the door on the right is the washroom and toilet.

The closet looks like this.

Air conditioning can be adjusted from the side table of the bed, but heating and cooling are centrally controlled throughout the building.

The washroom is also spacious.

The dryer is placed here.

The toilet is also quite spacious.

I didn't use the bath in the room because there is

a large public bath of 'Kanten stone bath'.

This time, I made a reservation with a special plan, so I was able to receive Chikezo goods that are not for sale.

A memorial space is set up in the welcome center, where many items of memories of the horses who spent their time at AERU are displayed.

There was also a winning ticket for Uma Musume.

Horse clothes for winning tickets.

Other meritorious horses that have come to AERU include Nippo Teio, known as the father of Haruurara, who won three G1 races in the mile to middle distance races and lost 113 straight times, and the name 'This is a surprise, Daiyuusaku!!' at the Arima Kinen. There are Daiyusaku, who is known for his live commentary, Hisimasaru, who won three consecutive GIII races when he was 3 years old but was not blessed with a win after that, and Time Paradox, who was active in the dirt route such as winning the Japan Cup dirt. All of them have already passed away, and the winning ticket

passed away on February 18, 2023 , but Suzuka Phoenix, who has won the Takamatsunomiya memorial victory, is still alive with short distance as the main battlefield.

There was also Uma Musume's Teimu Opera Oh. Opera O has never been in AERU.

In addition, the meal was quite voluminous with such feeling.

The winning ticket special concept room plan at 'Urakawa Yushun Village AERU' is 30,000 yen per night for one person and 28,000 yen per person per night for two people. In addition, although there are fluctuations depending on the time of year, a standard room with two meals will cost around 9,000 yen to less than 20,000 yen, and a room without meals will cost around 5,000 yen to 8,000 yen.
