Of the apps circulating in India, a total of 232 apps that the government has taken notice of are all said to have ties to China.

In India, tens of thousands of people who can not get loans mainly due to low creditworthiness and lack of knowledge have downloaded the loan application. However, some apps are working malicious acts such as high-interest loans and intimidation, and as a result, many people are indebted to law enforcement agencies or killed their lives.

The Reserve Bank of India has introduced stricter rules for digital lending companies from 2022, encouraging companies to increase transparency and control over their customers. Under the new rules, lenders are not allowed to increase credit lines without customer consent and must explicitly disclose annual lending rates. Digital lending apps are also required to obtain explicit prior consent from customers before collecting any data, and any such requests should be minimal.

Gambling apps are similarly defrauding people, and the government's latest app bans were tough on such malicious apps.

India has blocked more than 300 China-related apps in recent years, including ByteDance's TikTok, Xiaomi's community and video calling apps, and Alibaba Group's UC Browser and UC News. Brendan Carr, a senior Republican at the Federal Communications Commission, has praised India for blocking TikTok and other apps, saying, 'We have set an incredibly important precedent. TikTok is a sophisticated surveillance tool. , and banning social apps is part of our efforts to secure communication networks. We also need to eliminate other malicious apps.'
