Haagen-Dazs 'Creamy Corn Matcha Macadamia' tasting review with bittersweet matcha ice cream and Yatsuhashi-flavored corn
Haagen-Dazs 'Creamy Corn Matcha Macademia', which combines matcha ice cream with waffle cones inspired by Kyoto's famous confectionery 'Yatsuhashi', has been available exclusively for Seven-Eleven since April 19, 2022. The bittersweet matcha is accented with the texture and flavor of macadamia, so I tried to see what it tastes like when I actually eat it.

A bright green ice cream appeared on the waffle cone. The surface of the ice cream is covered with a matcha coating.
When you eat a bite, the bittersweetness of the firm matcha echoes slowly. As the ice cream melts smoothly in your mouth, the macadamia nuts mix with the bitterness and crunchy texture, giving you the feeling of bringing out the subtle sweetness of the ice cream. The light green matcha ice cream inside has an elegant sweetness, but the coated matcha ice cream is a bit bitterer than the ice cream.
At first glance, the waffle corn looks like a normal corn, but the cinnamon flavor is very effective, and you can clearly see that we tried to reproduce the 'Yatsuhashi skin'. If you chew the corn with ice cream, it will give you a rich Japanese-style ice cream.
There was a part where I felt that the ice cream alone left a little bitterness, but when combined with the cinnamon-flavored waffle corn, the unpleasant feeling did not remain in the aftertaste, and I wanted to continue eating slowly.
Haagen-Dazs 'Creamy Corn Matcha Macadamia' has a suggested retail price of 348 yen excluding tax and can be purchased at Seven-Eleven stores nationwide.
