Kazakhstan, the world's second-largest Bitcoin mining hub, has lost an estimated 15% of global minors due to the internet blockage, leading to further confusion.

Kazakhstan, which has become a riot in protests against energy price increases, is also the world's second-largest Bitcoin mining hub after the United States, but the

severance of communications across the country has had a major impact.

Speaking of Bitcoin mining, China used to be the most powerful, and at its peak, 70% of mining hubs existed in China. However, when the government announced in May 2021 that it would crack down on mining for 'carbon neutrality,' a mining hub that moved overseas emerged, making Kazakhstan one of its recipients.

In the Bitcoin mining map published by the University of Cambridge, you can see the average monthly share of the 'hash rate' that shows the mining ability.

According to the data as of June 2021, China (34.25%) is ranked first, the United States (21.81%) is second, Russia (8.9%) is third, and Kazakhstan is fourth (8.8%).

However, in July 2021, when the Chinese figure was 0.0%, it was ranked 1st in the United States (35.12%), 2nd in Kazakhstan (13.79%), and 3rd in Russia (11.9%). Furthermore, in August 2021, the numbers increased further to 1st place in the United States (35.4%), 2nd place in Kazakhstan (18.1%), and 3rd place in Russia (11.23%).

Kazakhstan's mining hub was hit hard by this communication interruption, and the hash rate was estimated to have dropped by about 15%.

Didar (@didar_bekbau ), who runs a mining farm in Kazakhstan, tweeted, 'You can't mine without the internet.'

According to Cloudflare Radar, which can see the state of net traffic, the Kazakhstan net seems to have recovered slightly around 11 o'clock on the 6th in Coordinated Universal Time, but it is almost shut down again in about 2 hours. I understand.

In the demonstration, security forces were dispatched to suppress the demonstration, and dozens of demonstrators died and the security forces also suffered casualties . Further confusion is expected as CSTO troops dispatched at the request of President Tokaev of Kazakhstan are embarking on suppression assistance.
