◆ Members-only material 'Frontispiece'
In manga, not only the story and drawing of the main story, but also the 'frontispiece' illustration that is the cover of each story is important to attract readers. Especially in 'Episode 1', I proceeded while considering a rough draft so that the concept and fun of the work could be conveyed as much as possible.
Rough A drawn as a frontispiece of the first episode. It was very nice that the concept was organized as a vampire running away from a maid with garlic dishes with a big garlic in the background, but I felt that the illustration with stronger deformation from the first episode did not fit, so I made it a horizontally long composition. I changed it and adopted it for 'GIGAZINE Manga Award Announcement Illustration'. Click here for the making.
Episode 1 Frontispiece B. It is a non-deformed version with a concept similar to Plan A, but it was not adopted because it was a little harder to convey than Plan A, which was expressed symbolically.
Plan C, which was adopted, was excellent in that the concept of the work was organized as a vampire standing irreverently, a maid beside him, and garlic in front of the vampire's anxious gaze. On the other hand, the main character's eyes go and the garlic is cut off at the edge of the screen, which is a little distracting, so I adjusted the composition so that it is easy to connect the garlic and the vampire with a single line.
The adjusted decision rough is the image below. First of all, there is the impact of the garlic that is piled up, and it is easier to understand how it looks like a vampire staring at it.
The image below is the color door that was actually posted. Vampire Mint is a child version.
Since the second episode is an episode called 'Cooking with garlic oil', a maid who uses garlic oil was drawn as a rough draft.
