The strength of the Fairphone series is that unlike general smartphones, it can be easily disassembled by individuals, so Fairphone 4 can also be disassembled as shown in the image below. Since the internal structure is divided for each module, it can be easily repaired by replacing the failed module. In addition, recycled plastic is used for the plastic parts used for exteriors, etc., and Fairphone appeals that it is 'the most environmentally friendly smartphone.'
There are two models, 'RAM 6GB / storage 128GB' and 'RAM 8GB / storage 256GB'. There are three colors, RAM6GB / storage 128GB model is gray only, RAM8GB / storage 256GB model is gray / green / spectrum (mottled) green.
The main unit price is 579 euros (about 75,000 yen) for the RAM 6GB / storage 128GB model and 649 euros (about 84,000 yen) for the RAM 8GB / storage 256GB model, and the shipping fee must be paid separately. Also, if you purchase it by December 31, 2022, it will come with a 5-year warranty.
Pre-orders for Fairphone 4 have been accepted since September 30, 2021 and will begin shipping from November 1. However, it is unclear whether it can be shipped to Japan, and it is highly possible that Fairphone 4 has not acquired the technical suitability mark , so it seems difficult to use it in Japan.
