Twitter official application 'TweetDeck' announced a new design & new function, so I actually tried using it

Twitter's official client '

TweetDeck ' was released for desktop in March 2016, and the official account update was suspended for about two years after the tweet on November 21, 2019. The official TweetDeck account resumed renewal on July 21, 2021 Japan time, announcing a major upgrade with new designs and features, so it looks like you're actually using the reborn TweetDeck. I tried to check the function.

According to TweetDeck, at the time of writing the article, the newly designed TweetDeck is being tested for some users in the United States, Canada and Australia ...

Jane Manchun Wong, who has been the first to analyze new features such as Twitter's ' reaction function ', ' super follow ', and ' cancel transmission', has released a method to try the test version of TweetDeck.

To try the test version of TweetDeck, go to the top page of TweetDeck and click 'Log in'.

Enter the email address and user name registered on Twitter and click 'Next'.

Enter your password and click 'Login'.

If you log in successfully, you will see the traditional TweetDeck. From here you can try out the newly designed TweetDeck by running commands in the

browser console. This time I will use Firefox, but you can try the newly designed TweetDeck with the same procedure on other web browsers.

To open the console, click the icon at the top right of the screen and click 'Other Tools' from the displayed menu.

Then click on Web Development Tools.

When the web development tool appears at the bottom of the screen, click Console, type document.cookie = 'tweetdeck_version = beta', then press Enter on your keyboard.

When '' tweetdeck_version = beta '' is displayed, click the 'x' on the right to close the web development tool and press the refresh button to reload TweetDeck.

Then, the newly designed TweetDeck was displayed. The new design is similar to the Twitter design at the time of writing the article.

Also, with the conventional TweetDeck, it was possible to display columns such as 'timeline', 'search results for specific words', and 'notifications' side by side, but with the newly designed TweetDeck, the screen with newly arranged columns can be displayed as a 'deck'. It is possible to manage as. Click the red frame icon on the left edge of the screen to actually create a new deck.

When the deck creation screen is displayed, add the name of the deck you want to create in the input field, select an easy-to-understand pictogram, and click 'Finish'.

Then an empty deck was created. Click the icon in the red frame to add a column to the deck you created.

There are various types of columns such as 'List', 'Reserved Tweets', 'Bookmarks', and 'Notifications'. This time I want to make a deck with scientific topics, so click 'Topics'.

Find the topic you are looking for in the list of topics, click 'Add Column' and then click 'Finish' ...

I was able to create a deck with science-related topics like this. With the newly designed TweetDeck, you can create and manage multiple decks with columns according to your purpose, such as 'deck with science-related topics' and 'deck with multiple search result columns'.

If you want to revert to the old design, just type 'document.cookie =' tweetdeck_version =' in the browser console and run it.

In addition, Twitter product leader Kavon Beipo tweeted immediately after the announcement of the new design of TweetDeck, 'We need to think about the role that TweetDeck plays in Twitter's subscription service,' so it is related to SNS. Media Social Media Today points out that 'TweetDeck may be charged.'
