It was announced that Kentaro Miura, a manga artist known for his works such as 'Berserk' and 'Giganto Makia', died on Thursday, May 6, 2021 due to acute aortic dissection. I was 54 years old.





This was revealed on the official Twitter of 'Berserk' work and the official Twitter of the serialized magazine Young Animal.

The masterpiece 'Berserk' is a dark fantasy manga that represents Japan and started serializing in 1989 at Young Animal's predecessor, Monthly Animal House. 40 volumes have already been published.


From 1997 to 1998, the 14th volume of the original 'Golden Age Edition' was made into a TV animation as 'Berserk'. In the form of 'late night anime' which was not so popular at that time, the depiction of Ero Guro appearing in the work is also partially modified. The main character, Guts, is played by Nobutoshi Canna (at that time, Nobutoshi Hayashi), Griffith is played by Toshiyuki Morikawa, and Casca is played by Yuko Miyamura.


Also, from 2012 to 2014, under the title of 'Berserk Saga Project', up to 14 volumes of the original were also made into an animated film as 'Berserk Golden Age'. Hiroaki Iwanaga plays the role of Guts, Takahiro Sakurai plays the role of Griffith, and Toa Yukinari plays the role of Casca.


From 2016, TV animation has been made after 'Condemnation' following 'Golden Age'.
