On May 6, 2021 local time, security product review site SafetyDetectives discovered that a database of organizations posting fake reviews on Amazon was leaked. It is known that the database contained more than 200,000 email addresses and PayPal accounts. In the process of posting a fake review, the seller first lists the products that the seller wants to be given a 5-star rating in the review, and sends it to the reviewer. After that, the reviewer actually purchases the product and posts a 5-star review to Amazon a few days after the purchase. It seems that the reason for opening a few days from purchase to review posting is to prevent Amazon moderators from detecting that it is a fake review.

A data leak suddenly revealed the existence of Amazon's fake review organization, but details such as which brands are involved in fake reviews remain unclear. However, on May 10th, local time, it was revealed that products from popular accessory makers such as Tomcat, Aukey, and Mpow were removed from Amazon.

In particular, almost all Aukey products have been removed from Amazon. Aukey is a manufacturer that has sold accessories such as charging cables, adapters, and wireless chargers, and although it was not officially certified by MagSafe, it also sold accessories that are compatible with MagSafe. Also, Tacklife products owned by the same parent company as Aukey have been removed from Amazon.

Technology Media Digital Trends said, 'It's very shocking to see all Aukey products disappear completely from Amazon, especially for those who actually use and love Aukey products. I've been using it for years and it's really what it's said to be, but it probably wasn't enough to achieve the ratings and goals set by Aukey, and it's a direct competitor to Aukey. Branded products such as Anker and RAVPower are currently sold on Amazon. '

Apple-related media 9to5Mac is asking Amazon and Aukey for comment, but hasn't received a response at the time of writing.
