Visa CEO Alfred Kelly has revealed that he is looking at 'stablecoin' in his efforts outside of Bitcoin.

Until now, the only payment methods that can be used with Visa are fiat currencies such as 'yen' and 'dollar', and businesses built with digital currencies could increase costs and complexity.

From now on, Visa's digital currency settlement will be handled by

Anchorage, a 'virtual currency bank'. A pilot program will begin to send USDC to Visa for payment via Crypto.com , which works with Visa on crypto-enabled debit cards.

After repeated testing, Visa wants to provide USDC payment function to other partners in a year.

Visa's rival Mastercard is also scheduled to support virtual currencies by 2021.
