Protects sheep whose whole body is covered with 35 kg of wool

Wool is

widely used worldwide as a raw material for wool , and many people think of sheep as fluffy before cutting. From the sheep protected in Australia in February 2021, it has been talked about that 35 kg of wool was cut, and videos showing the appearance before and after cutting the wool are also released.

The sheep named 'Barrack' was protected in a forest near Lancefield, about 69 km north of Melbourne. A man in the real estate management business found a tremendous amount of woolen sheep and contacted Edgar's Mission Farm Sanctuary, which rescues and protects animals.

You can see the appearance of Barrack immediately after being protected by the staff of Edgar's Mission Farm Sanctuary and the appearance after cutting the wool by watching the following movie.

The bar rack protected this time covers the whole body with an unusual amount of wool.

It was discovered with barely a peek at the toes and face from the lump of hair.

The hair covers the eyes, and I don't know if I can see the surroundings.

The staff at Edgar's Mission Farm Sanctuary carried the bar rack in a connected basket behind the truck.

You can see how much wool in Barrack is when compared to other sheep protected on the farm.

It looks like this while sitting. In addition, it seems that Barrack's ears had ear tags torn by thick wool, and it is presumed that they were once bred on some farm.

The amount of wool that the staff cut the wool was so large that it was difficult to hold it with both hands.

When we measured the weight of wool, it weighed 35.4 kg.

After cutting the wool, the bar rack looks very smart and turns out to be thinner than a normal individual. Wool around the face obstructed Barrack's vision, and the gap between the cornea and eyelids was inflamed with debris and grass seeds, staff Kelly Dinham said.

Domesticated sheep's wool does not fall off depending on the season and grows steadily, so it is necessary to cut the wool at least once a year. It is said that if the wool continues to grow without sufficient care, manure may accumulate between the hairs and cause infections, but Barrack did not have the wool cut for a considerable period of time. I have worn a tremendous amount of wool. Fortunately, after cutting the wool, Barrack is healthy and lives with other protected sheep at Edgar's Mission Farm Sanctuary.

The 35.4 kg of wool recorded by Barrack is not a world record. The heaviest wool recorded in the past is 41.1 kg, recorded by a protected sheep named 'Chris' in 2015. After the wool has been cut, Chris is bred on a farm and will reach the end of his life in 2019 at about 10 years old.
