According to this treatise, it is necessary to 'sweat with moderate exercise for about 30 to 40 minutes a day' for sitting.

The underlying data comes from nine studies conducted with fitness trackers installed in 44,370 people in four countries.

The analysis found that people with a sedentary lifestyle had a higher risk of death with less physical activity. However, there was no significant difference in mortality risk for those who had moderate exercise for 30 to 40 minutes, whether they were sitting for a long time or for a short time.

'Medium exercise' refers to moderately concentrated exercise such as cycling, walking, and garden work.

According to Emmanuel Stamatakis of the University of Sydney, who studies health science, the criteria for how much 'sitting too much' is due to lack of research are still unclear. However, 'it's a fast-paced field of research, and hopefully we'll get an answer within a few years,' said Stamatakis.
