On May 31, 2020, a private space development company, SpaceX, successfully launched the manned spacecraft Crew Dragon. Two people boarded the aircraft: NASA astronauts Douglas Hurley and Robert Benken. It was the world's first successful launch of a manned spacecraft as a private company.
