According to Zendrive, it has been found that the number of times drivers have been distracted by smartphones has increased about 10% or more overall compared to a year ago. Once the most dangerous driver was the one who drank, but now the driver who pays attention to his smartphone is the most dangerous one.

Zendrive names particularly dangerous drivers 'smartphone addicts' and has the following characteristics.

・ We operate smartphone of 3 times of normal person while driving
・ 28% of the driving time is not looking at the road
・ Operation time is 1.5 times longer than normal people
・ It is more dangerous than drunk driving as a whole

The number of 'smart phone addicts' themselves has also doubled since 2018. Also, as Zendrive examined the issue further, it turned out that many people were not aware of their actions while distracting them while driving. The lower image is a graph of the survey results, but in the pie chart on the left, among smartphone addicts, those who answered that they were 'very safe drivers' were green, and those who said they were 'very safe drivers' It is expressed in blue, and it can be seen that it is as high as 93%. In addition, the bar graph on the right shows the result of the survey on how much time you take your eyes off the road while driving, and 47% of people fall under the item of 10% or more on the right.

Zendrive has organized a campaign called #TextYouLater because it was the chat and phone calls that were cited as the most common reason for viewing smartphones in this report. This is to set up an automatic response function for chat and phone, set your smartphone in driving mode, take a screenshot, and add a hashtag #TextYouLater to tweet.
