The CPI is created by statistically processing reports of 13 types of questionnaire surveys conducted by ten institutions in 180 countries around the world. The closer the score is to 0, the more corruption, the closer to 100 is the evaluation that means less corruption, the country that recorded 50 points or more in 2018 is more than two thirds. The average score is 43 points.

First of all, from the graph showing the top six countries and the low ranking 6 countries with few corruption. There are few corruption in Denmark, New Zealand, Finland, Singapore, Sweden, Switzerland, Asia is only ranked in Singapore. On the other hand, countries with many corruption are Somalia, Syria, South Sudan, Yemen, North Korea.

Ranking details are as follows. Score, country name, ranking are shown in the ranking, and recognition from corruption will increase as it gets closer from yellow to red. Japan is ranked 18th in Ireland, 73 points which is considerably higher than the average score of 43 points. Corruption enters few people.

Further from 78th to 180th is like this.

Below are the ones showing the average points by region on the world map. The average point of Western Europe & EU is as high as 66 points, the average point of Eastern Europe & Central Asia and Sub-Saharan Africa is low. America and Asia Pacific were about the average point.

The ranking showing the Asia-Pacific region in detail is as follows. Japan is located above Bhutan in the form following New Zealand, Singapore, Australia and Hong Kong.

In countries where the perception of corruption has decreased in Argentina, Côte d'Ivoire, Guyana in the past seven years, Hungary, Mexico, Malta and others have increased. Hungary's decline in CPI was large, and it was the lowest score since 1989 when the Eastern European Revolution was held.

In the countries shown in the pink box below, the countries where the CPI is greatly reduced, the ones shown in the green box are countries where the CPI is increased, gray dots decrease and increase the CPI of each country It shows the degree. Although Denmark, Sweden, Finland, etc. are top ranking countries, it is interesting that the CPI is decreasing compared to the past.

Lack of corruption is very important for democracy, and countries with a CPI of 50 or less are said to be "not complete democracy". From the left, the following graph shows "complete democracy", "defective democracy", "combined structure", "dictatorship system" along with their respective average CPI. For example in the case of Japan CPI is 73, so it seems to be close to "complete democracy".

Corruption tends to spread in places where the foundation of democracy is weakening, and politicians who are not democracies and politicians of popularism often use corruption. Transparency International 's Patricia Moreira , which publishes CPI says, "Many democratic organizations around the world are being threatened by autocratic or mass-oriented leaders, we strengthen check-and-balance and citizen It is necessary to protect you.
