KORG Gadget for Nintendo Switch has been released for Mac / iOS, making it possible to create high-level sounds that globally hit "KORG Gadget"Nintendo Switch version. The selling price at Nintendo eShop is also 5000 yen, which is the same price as iOS version.

16 kinds of recorded instruments "gadget", a wide range of sound sources such as drum bass synth piano and strings are prepared. In addition, each gadget has tens of different timbres, and the total of the sounds of all the gadgets is 1021 kinds.

Furthermore, each tone color can process a tone with a filter, add effects of effectors, change the tone like an analog synth, and make a really versatile sound. Filters for creating a variety of sounds are equipped with functions that are not inferior to the real equipment used by musicians, and each knob can also be operated with the inclination of Joy-Con. When I actually operated it, the motion of the hand was reflected linearly, so I was able to adjust delicate tones.

By choosing sounds from gadgets that have distinctive timbres and building sounds with even more versatile sounds, it is unlikely that the world that can be expressed is infinite. However, since stringers and instruments such as guitar are relatively few, it can be said that it is systematically suited for electronic music.

In KORG Gadget, one piece of music is composed by combining performance data "clip" for each instrument (red frame in the figure below). The "overview" screen showing the flow of music is indicated by "track" (blue frame) and "scene" (yellow frame), and by connecting the scenes in order of prelude → A melody → B melody, one One song is played.

The clip is music score data that recorded the performance contents with notes (notes). When actually composing, you can enter notes one at a time on this screen "piano roll", you can also operate keys and pads displayed on the gadget screen and input them in real time.

KORG Gadget has 3 song demo songs available, so you can see what songs you can make. In the following movies, you can see such demo songs and how they looked at filters, etc during play.

As soon as I released the release date I tried to knock it down, but it was overwhelmed by the wide range of tone colors and expressive power. Since the Nintendo Switch version of KORG Gadget is supposed to be able to play music at the same time and make music, it is planned to release the scene of actual playing soon so please look forward to it. By the way, I took out the Nintendo Switch and played it outdoors, and I understood that it was likely to be able to produce full-scale music even on the road. The fact that "the place where I am now is transforming into a production studio" seems to be said to be one of the big advantages of mobile version KORG Gadget including iOS version.
