Data glove that senses movement of hands and fingers like power glove "Shape Hand"

Shinkawa Electric Corp.Data glove that captures movement of hands and fingers selling in real time "Shape Hand". Although it was issued to "SIGGRAPH ASIA 2009", it was a shape reminiscent of the power glove that was released as a controller for Nintendo NES somehow, so I tried to see what kind of product it is.

Details are as below.
Appearance attached "Shape Hand". It makes a very cyber atmosphere.

Explanatory signboard exhibited in the booth. With 40 optical fiber sensors, it seems that bending, opening and opening / closing data of each joint can be easily recorded.

Gloves and sensors are separable so that you can prepare gloves that match the size of your hands.

It is detecting how much bending is caused by increase and attenuation of light passing through the laminated special linear fiber loop.

The glove here was designed to attach a sensor by attaching a Velcro to a thing for golf.

By connecting to a personal computer, register the length of the joint in the software, perform a calibration (measurement of movement) by taking the pose displayed on the monitor, the setting is completed in about several minutes.

Please check the following movie to see what action to take. It is said that the movement to move the finger up and down is often able to capture even other products, and the "Shape Hand" is characterized by being able to capture movements that add finger opening and closing and twisting.

On the Shinkawa Denki site, you can check the details of the product and demonstration movie.
