DIY equipment 'God Machine II' that can manipulate light and shoot fantastic images with moving geometric patterns

'

Video feedback ' is a technique that outputs images taken with a camera to a monitor, etc., and then shoots and outputs the output images again, making it possible to output mysterious images that look like mirrors. God Machine II , developed by filmmaker Dave Blair , can effectively generate video feedback to create images of fantastically moving geometric patterns.

God Machine II looks like this. It is equipped with multiple cameras and monitors.

Below is an example of a video created using God Machine II. The geometric patterns move around in a fantastical way while changing their shape.

Mr. Blair has also released a movie that clearly shows the mechanism of God Machine II.

God Machine II has two monitors in the back and one in the front to generate recursive images, two monitors on the top for confirmation, and two cameras in the back and one in the front. The tables are arranged.

Typical video feedback uses one monitor to generate recursive images, but God Machine II allows you to switch between two monitors as needed. Additionally, the monitor can be adjusted up and down.

The photographer can change the video by turning the control knob or operating the switch.

The control knob looks like this.

Turning the control knob rotates the camera and changes the image.

By changing the image displayed on the monitor and the rotation speed of the camera, it is possible to depict the following fantastic geometric patterns.
