Microsoft announces release of Windows 11 that can remove Edge, Bing search, Cortana and some ads

Due to the influence of the 'Digital Market Law' stipulated in the European Economic Area (EEA) with the aim of preventing market monopolization by large platforms, Microsoft has released Windows 11 that can remove 'Microsoft Edge' and 'Bing Search'. I decided to release it.

The 'Digital Market Law' is a law that went into effect in November 2022 and will be applied from May 2023, targeting Big Tech in order to create a fair business environment for all market participants. In Microsoft's case, it was pointed out that the combination of Windows and apps is proprietary.

In response to this, Microsoft has introduced browsers that have been pre-installed by default on Windows devices and cannot be uninstalled later, such as Microsoft Edge, Bing search, the assistant Cortana, and the camera. It has been announced that Windows 11 will be released with the ability to delete 'Photos'.

In addition, almost all previously unremovable software can now be removed. Even if these software are uninstalled, they can be reinstalled from the Microsoft Store or the Internet.

In addition, Microsoft Edge will no longer start when using the browser or Outlook will not start as the email software, ignoring user settings, and will respect the default settings set by the user.

Additionally, you will be able to turn off ads in Microsoft News Feed and Widget Board.

The above changes will be applied to preview versions in the coming weeks, with a general rollout expected in early 2024. According to Microsoft, it plans to fully adapt to the Digital Market Law by March 6, 2024, and Windows 10 will also be updated.

Please note that these changes are 'in response to the Digital Market Law' and will only apply to the EEA region. The EEA includes the following 30 countries: the 27 EU countries plus 3 countries.
