The FTC has updated its guidelines on 'endorsements (recommended by celebrities), influencer reviews,' and was last updated 14 years ago.

This update takes into account online influencers active on social media such as Twitter, Twitch, Instagram and TikTok. When doing reviews, if a manufacturer gives you a product or other perk for free, even if the manufacturer says you don't have to mention it, you must clearly disclose it.

For example, content creators posting pictures of board games on SNS, and posting videos of someone playing board games, are also included in the FTC's guidelines as ``that the user likes and approves of the product, even without words.''

Regarding information disclosure, the FTC argues that it should be simple and conspicuous, such as 'This is an advertisement for a specific brand.' It is said that it is insufficient to describe only one notation on the website, the description column of the video, and the part that is not disclosed unless the user selects 'Read more'.

According to Jamie Steggmeyer of Stonemaier Games , the developer of `` Wingspan '', while regularly sending products for review, reviewers tagged `` Paid promotion from publisher '' on Instagram I noticed that. ``I would like more precise tagging, but that's enough for now,'' Steggmeyer said of this tag.

On the other hand, reviewer Sarah Shah, a lawyer and YouTuber, said, ``When posting about games, I have not actively disclosed (that it is an offering) in Instagram or Facebook posts, but I will be more proactive in the future.I hope more content creators will follow the new rules.'
