Generative AI can not only assist humans in composing, but also create whole new songs. In June 2023, Meta released its own music generation AI model `` MusicGen '', and you can estimate the power of music generation AI using a demo.

In response to the development of generative AI, which has a major impact on the music industry, The Recording Academy has announced new restrictions on AI. The restriction is that 'the use of AI in music is OK, but songs completely generated by AI are prohibited'.

The Recording Academy announced, ``If an artist uses AI in a song, as long as there is a 'meaningful' human authoring element in the work, it can be submitted as a candidate for the award. It said that fully generated songs are not eligible for any awards, and that only 'human creators' are eligible for Grammy consideration, nominations, and awards.

Many music contents using AI have appeared so far, and in April 2023, 'Heart on My Sleeve ', which reproduces the voices of Drake and The Weeknd with AI and sings original songs, will be released. It was born and has been taken down for copyright infringement after garnering millions of views.

On the other hand, some artists actively incorporate AI. The Beatles' Paul McCartney has revealed that he has used AI to extract John Lennon's voice from old sound sources and has completed the production of 'The Beatles' last record'.
