I checked with ' FLIR i3 ' how the terminal heats up during use. If it is a light load such as watching YouTube, the back is about 32 to 33 degrees.
A little higher is warmer.
The bottom and the vicinity of the speaker were also hot at 33.5 degrees.
Infrared thermography such as 'FLIR i3' may have a large measurement error for glossy objects, so when checking with a non-contact infrared thermometer, the back surface is 31 degrees, which is roughly the same temperature.
By the way, the front side is also a little over 30 degrees.
When the load is higher, 4K movie shooting is over 40 degrees.

Since there is no fan, the internal heat cannot be forced out, but the temperature rise has mostly settled down around this point. What surprised me was that I was able to keep shooting 4K movies for over 40 minutes. Given that some high-end smartphones limit the amount of time they can shoot 4K movies, the Nothing Phone (1) may be doing a pretty good job of managing heat.
In addition, YouTube viewing does not consume much battery even at maximum volume, and even if you watch YouTube for about 50 minutes from the battery full state, the battery remains 93%. The battery capacity is quite large at 4500mAh, so even if you use it without charging from morning to night, it won't be a big problem.
Full HD 60fps movie shooting is about the same load as watching YouTube. On the other hand, 4K movie shooting is really tough on the battery, and it decreased by 15% in 30 minutes, so 4K movie shooting seems to be a problem whether the battery has more than the temperature problem of the terminal.
