According to Qualcomm's press release, the company is to release the new Snapdragon "MSM 8960" and "APQ 8064" compatible with Microsoft's next OS "Windows 8".

The dual-core model "MSM 8960" compatible with 3G and LTE is scheduled to begin sample shipment from June, said that it will realize low power consumption, high processing capacity and high graphic performance. The quad-core model "APQ 8064" with four independent cores is scheduled to ship sample in early 2012.

QUALCOMM has been designed from the ground up to release the Windows 8 compatible Snapdragon processor in order to make the power efficiency even better.
